News Uk Eu Referendum

This is what Putin has wanted for a while. They've had various propaganda projects under way to undermine the unity of the EU, both for their own domestic propaganda and for their strange ambitions of being more powerful on the world stage. There's also this thing called the Eurasia Union, but I'm not sure Putin is crazy enough to think he could lure European nations to join ... but who knows ...

I certainly don't live there, but I do follow world economy pretty closely, however there was always a socialist type feel to the EU. It had that "too big to fail" feel. There are many here who don't remember Britian before the EU and have grown up thinking it is the only way for the economy to prosper. That simply isn't true. You will find that after a bumpy patch it will likely return to a strong capitalist market. Sad that it is portrayed that UK needs the EU in order to survive. It is actually quite the opposite. Good luck to all. Will be sending good thoughts your way.

And now Nicola Sturgeon is saying she will start the process to enable another Scottish Referendum, and thinks it is likely to happen. The EU leaders are worrying about the potential for further exits. Ireland could have a border to enforce between North and South. All these things can't contribute to stability.

Economically, I can't see why global businesses should stay in the UK if we are not a part of Europe.

I just found out the result from another member's diary

I didn't vote (I don't), I actually expected the scare mongering to tilt the vote more towards "remain"
Regardless of the result, I don't think that the institution of the EU would have survived for another five or ten years, It's too centrally planned, and far too economically distorting.

People's buying preferences cannot be resisted or frustrated for so long without either those preferences succeeding, or the use of increased levels of coercion to prevent people acting on their preferences. An illustration from history would be the mercantilist system of Louis 14th and his Secretary of state, Colbert, in France, which was very very similar to the levels of restriction and regulation that the EU was enforcing

It seems the pound is falling on the foreign exchanges.
and that's been mirrorerd by a big spike in the pound price for gold

It's in expectation that the Bank of England will let rip with the printing press (and invisibly tax any savings, by diluting their purchasing power).
