United Kingdom Eu Debate - In Or Out?

There is a lot of debate here about whether or not the UK should remain in the European Union, and then there is the further discussion that perhaps parts of the UK will not all want the same outcome.

It is widely reported (in Scotland) that England will vote to leave but Scotland will want to stay.

However what interests me is the way it is reporting about what the rest of the world thinks about it. It is suggested that America, Russia, India and China would think less of the UK if we go it alone, but I am not sure that they would really care.

I think a lot will depend on what Cameron can renegotiate. If he rolls over and nothing changes I think most of the UK will want to leave. Its if we stay with a weak leader for the next five years that the rest of the world will think less of us. But this is only my opinion.

I can't say I overly trust any of them, the British government or the EU. But again, its only my opinion.

I don't think America, Russia, India and China would give a damn. I was told several years ago about how the eu originated and was told that if after world war 2 people had known what the eu was going to become /do that there would have been uproar because the concept of it was the very thing they were fighting not to end up with in the war?

I don't want to leave the EU. I don't understand how we would be better off not being a member of the EU.

I thought Cameron said we were better together, but I guess that only applies when Scots are voting on independence .

I'm concerned what will happen if different parts of the UK vote differently. It's still a while away for the vote though. Lots of propaganda and mounds of leaflets through the door to look forward to.

I'm guessing this is from a business/economy standpoint?

I doubt the ordinary people of those countries would give a f*ck either way to be honest ;):hilarious:.

I know my vet has talked about this before (he's Welsh), but I honestly can't remember what he said or which side he came down on. I think he was complaining about the EU...but complaining is kinda his thing. LOL! Anyway, I clearly zoned out when he was talking which seems to support @rainy_daze statement.

I already know I'm voting to stay in the EU, but I will follow the news rearding it now at again.

I think I read the article which mentioned that other countries would think the UK would be foolish to leave the EU because collectively it is better for trade. The article also suggested that our GDP would fall, best case scenario being only 2%.

*sighs* I just don't understand why people would want to leave it, and I'm saddened when I read people commenting on newspaper articles online that people in the UKare selfish, amongst other things.

Cameron and his Tory crew do not represent me. They are far removed from my ideological and moral stances.

It will be interesting to see what happens in a couple of years, but I might not enjoy the outcome :laugh:.
