Sufferer Unlucky Driver, Chosen In Another's Suicide By Car.

Hello, My names jared and I am a 29 y/o white male from Seattle Washington. About 5 years ago I was on a road trip for work traveling from Florida, to Chicago when I got in a car accident that changed my entire life (atleast for the mean time.)

A little outside walterboro, south carolina we aproached a rest stop (for those of you near there I was on I95 northbound and its the first rest stop you see after leaving from Georgia.) So about the time I was even with the entrance to the rest stop I began to pass a semi by entering the left lane of the 2 lane highway (also do to construction in the median there was concrete deviders blocking the shoulder) about the time I was to over take the truck I saw something black spin around infront of me and with no where to go I nearly instantly hit and killed her.... more details andjunk later, or just ask.

Hi Jaredo, welcome to the forum.

I was also in a car accident, and developed PTSD after that. I have made progress through therapy, a supportive family and by no means last, the support and information from this forum.

I'm sure glad that you found us. Post as and when you are able, maybe start a diary, but all at your own pace, no pressure. Take your time looking around. I hope you find the friendship and support that I have.

I have a similar experience that caused my PTSD (a fatal car accident). I know how you feel. Sorry I'm just now responding but I have started a new job as of 12/1. My old job was not very accommodating or understanding of my PTSD so needless to say I've been very busy trying to get up to speed. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, if I'm just trying to avoid things. The holidays never seem to bode well with me after my accident 14 years ago; I was just diagnosed in August after essentially reaching a breaking point for my stress level (due to the old job).

Anyway, this thread is about you not me. Shoot me a message if you would like someone to talk to. I'm trying to be around more now that things seem to be settling down at work. Just know that you've found a good place full of great people. Knowing that there are still some people who genuinely care can sometimes make a huge difference. Hope this note finds you well my friend. So sorry for the reason we are meeting but I think you are on the right track to working through some of the issues that you are most likely facing.
