General Update And Ptsd - Heart Attack Related??

Hi everyone

Well after a few days of feeling great my husband has slumped and doesnt want to get better and wants to end it all.

The hit and run car accident he was a victim of a year and a half ago has made the PTSD so bad and we feel led to the heart attack he had last May - 6 months after the hit and run accident. Has anyone else had a heart attack with PTSD? The insurance people are saying it isnt connected but I feel that my husband - just 38 - would never have had a heart attack if it wasnt for the recent car accident.

Be super to hear if you have experienced anything like this or can help.

Hello Sunshine71 - I am sure that there must have been research done in to this, there may even be further info on it on this board; but I do know that major stress of any kind places a massive strain on your heart. I suppose that he could have had an underlying condition that was exacerbated by the PTSD, but no one should ever underestimate the amount of stress that stress puts on your body - pardon the phrasing!

Keep searching- also look for damage (displacement) to the sternum re: seat belt.
