General Hubby Rocked By Friends Heart Attack

The funeral is tomorrow and hubby is doing well so far.

He has had a few bad days and was upset after phoning his friends wife yesterday, to find the exact time. She cried down the phone and told him a few things she had done over the last few days, including going to phone her husband to ask him something. This upset hubby, but he stayed on the phone until she was ready to go.

The only issue we will have tomorrow is other old friend's who have abandoned him being there, but he has already said, they can all go !!!!

Your husband did a great job of supporting his friend's wife by listening to her. It is especially commendable as it is difficult to reach inside and support someone else when your not the most stable yourself.

I hope all goes well during the funeral.

He is doing a lot better than he would have done 6 months ago, and for that I am thankful. He was upset afterwards, but did do well to support her.

Hubby did a good job of staying in the here and now this morning. He did not want to stay after the church service, but felt good about himself for going.

There were a lot of people there, and no issue with anyone who had not seen him for a while.

We had to stand at the back as the church was full to over flowing, so his back ached. Now apart from the residual sadness for the loss of his friend he is doing well.

So glad that it went well - as well as funerals ever can. That will be a weight off both your minds and Hubby can maybe grieve in his own time now x

I let him go to the pub when they opened as it is what he and his friend would have done in the past. They would have done this for any of their friends who had passed.

He came back still standing and said he now had closure and could remember his friend as he was.

Tomorrow we get back to what is and those who are still here, while not forgetting those who have gone.

Amethist...I know this is very delayed -I just saw this post today. But, wanted to say sorry for your loss.

It's interesting your H and his friend just got reconnected before this happened. I hope your H can hold onto that gift and help him through his grieving.

He has passed the grieving stage now and just remembers his friend with fondness, telling stories of what they got up to years ago.
