Okay, these days maybe most won't recover their true sight, but I hope you also take heart in these words from Jefferson.

Here's the operative passage: "A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles."

So, as much as it kills me, too, @She Cat -- patience. We want him to get the goods on everyone, no matter how long it takes. Though I'm with you. I want to see perp walks already!

Kümmel did capture the heart of what a lot of Americans are fearing. Some are unable to verify Kimmel's monologue as factual, like Politifact (which leans left) CNN Commentator Slams Jimmy Kimmel On Health Care — He’s ‘100 Percent Wrong’. I dunno where I stand...

I think if the Democrats take back both houses of Congress and pass a bill for single payer, frankly, it would not surprise me if Trump signed it. He wants the win more than any specific policy -- which is so dangerous for America. I have heard Trump talk about health care for a few years. He has no core on the issue. I believe he would probably sign almost any bill the Republicans pass in Congress and put on his desk.

Sigh. What a mess. :(
 
I doubt they will get this new health care plan through. Paul Rand said he would vote no, and now McCain has come out and said he will vote NO also. I believe one other has said they will vote no too, so I think the plan is dead.

I agree, Trump only wants WINS so that he can play to his base..... he's dangerous as are his actions towards the rest of the world. Just f*cking scary and everyday it gets scarier....
 
I seem to be sending McCain's office a lot of "thank you for saving my insurance" emails these days. (I totally believe in rewarding good behavior.)

Something I don't get. There seems to be the idea out that that a solution to the health care problem is for Congress to set a limit on how much money the federal government will spend. Isn't that kind of like me saying, "I'm spending too much on groceries. I refuse to spend more than $10 per week on groceries."? For awhile, you can cut back on stuff and substitute. Where do you go from the bottom of the barrel? Isn't health care the same way? If they decide it costs too much, so they refuse to spend the money, then you just die, right? (I've said since Reagan that this is the Republican idea of a "war on poverty". They want to eliminate it by killing off poor folk.)

I sure wish someone would set about actually working on the problem. Which, to me, is that health care, and insurance, costs more than most people can afford to pay.
