Some fishy chatter about that Ukrainian aircraft that went down. For instance, what pilot would ever be allowed to take off amid reports of missile attacks? Would an aircraft fail to radio distress or tower assistance if it was gonna try to turn around? Some people analyzing the photos... others finding anomalies... need the black box. Still others are looking at the passenger list. Looks like some bad actors or black hat clowns may have been onboard. But... confirmations other that the facts being presented aren't really measuring up.. aren't there. It just stinks and doesn't add up.

To save face Iran notified the Iraqis who in turn notified the US that missile threat and target was imminent... and personnel were removed ahead of airstrike. Possibly for Iran to "save face" and get credit for retaliating for Soleimani (probably spelled that wrong). POTUS exercised restraint and is ramping up the sanctions... Putting the squeeze on a regime who already has it's citizenry protesting because of their economy.

With respect to Iran, bear in mind that Obama turned a blind eye and deaf ear to a majority of Iranians who wanted the US to assist them in toppling the Ayatollah. Russia/Syria/Iran vs. US/Saudi Arabia/Israel with Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey and the rest of the region sitting on the sidelines. Russia's signal to Iran was to only "issue condolences". Heh. Assad (Syria is watching this unfold but essentially powerless being the least of the three in the alliance with Iran).

Reports in Iran of 30-50 associates of Soleimani's being arrested... one major player missing. Much going on still that the war mongers ignore.

Yup Iran shot it down... reports are not one but two missiles (my sources are not main stream but have been much more accurate). Iran isn't wanting to give up the aircraft's black boxes and after an original admission of "whoops", is not claiming that not all the black box data is retrievable. At least one... some float 5 passengers were "not listed" on the passenger manifests. All the reports of "children" aboard appear to be false.

As for the "Canadians"... I've seen the passenger lists but there seems to be something fishy still as pretty much/most all are of ME descent. So... be careful of what you read.

Am I the only one that finds it a little odd that the Iranians can't hit a stationary target the size of an airbase with multiple missiles, but can hit a small moving target multiple times?

Whatever happened, I guarantee that Trudeau will embarrass/infuriate all us sane Canadian types with some of that woke bullshit he spouts every time he opens his fool mouth now.

Assumes that the airstrikes on the 2 military bases were intended to kill, which is not necessarily the case.

Hitting air bases specifically that house coalition military an effective way to communicate "we want you to get out of this region", without actually descending into war, which would be much harder if Iran had targetted actual personnel.

Instead, they seem to have targeted assets (successfully), and given the US an opportunity to not have to retaliate.

The airbases they targetted are right next door - it seems unlikely that they fired 12 ballistic missiles at the occupied parts of those bases and missed 12 times. The nature of air bases (as opposed to other types of assets) which have so many satellite pics on offer, have the kind of land mass that you could very easily target empty land, while still technically bombing 'US assets' for the purpose of appeasing the millions of mourning Iranians.

Different guidance systems.

Hot targets like aircraft engines are exceptionally easy to lock onto... shoulder mounted -much less larger vehicle mounted- surface to air fire&forget missiles can take down almost anything flying ...lickety split. That’s a big part of why my legs are the mangled wrecks they are. Can’t fly helicopters over land held by people with SAMs, even RPGs get dicey, although that’s not really relevant here... not unless the passenger jet was landing/taking off. Rocket launchers, though? Hafta hike 1500 miles instead. Carrying 80kg per person. Up and down mountains. Wheeeeeee who needs knees??? :wtf: C’est la vie. Beats having a 12yo blow you outta the sky. Fast movers, like fighter jets, can blow chaff to confuse missile locks... but helicopters and passenger jets are like shooting fish in a barrel. And most SAMs are dirt cheap. Everyone has them. Not just militaries, but drug runners, human traffickers, smugglers... anyone who reeeeally doesn’t want people flying over them. It’s part of why drones are so feared. They’re “cold”, fast, & quiet. Almost impossible for the guidance systems of durn near anything -to lock onto. A passenger jet? Pfft. Cake. Slow, hot, big. Easy. Wouldn’t even need a guidance system. You can eyeball that shit. But even the most Fred Flintstone heat seeking tech can lock into a jet engine.

Ukrainians have access to the black boxes now... Iranians came in with bulldozer(s) to the crash site ahead of the investigation… but did a 180 and admitted they shot the flight down.

Discussions about whether or not munitions was "human error" or if they were set on automatic... but little expectation that the question will be resolved as that info rests solely with Iran.

P.S. This was in my news feed this morning... and I'd totally forgotten about it. The Obama administration gave Iran quite a lot to be confident about including, in their outgoing days, enough uranium for 10 warheads. So when you hear them saying (Susan Rice) that Iran wasn't going to get nukes because of their treaty... that is a lie/factually incorrect/untrue. They set up Iran for nukes and gave them a bunch of cash as they were ending their administration.

Final days of Obama admin: Team Obama rushed to let Iran import 130 tons of uranium, enough to make 10 nukes. When asked what Iran was going to do with all that material, State Dept spokesman said "I'm not going to speculate one way or another." (Omri Ceren is the National Security Advisor for Senator Ted Cruz... the article is from 3 years ago).

Joe Lieberman, who as most of you know is a good man, is on Fox News spanking the Democrats for this partisan representation of the Iran conflict. He says Soleimani was a threat to US security and responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans and thousands of Syrians.
