Vet's Call Out A Poser

I thought it was an offense to impersonate a soldier?
They should have called the cops and had him dragged to the nearest recruiting office oh on second thought nah he is not worth the effort.

don't have a ton of army uniform knowledge but he was wearing a ranger tab, 101 airborne and EOD on the uniform. I think his slouching and stuffing his hands in his pockets was another tip off. Where was his cover? and he was a e-7 and very youthful. Pretty young to have gone to 3 schools and gotten to that rank.
I would have called the cops. Is called the stolen valor act. its no different than putting on a cop uniform and pulling over people without being a cop.

Red, they gutted the Stolen Valor Law. Declared that these idiots can do it under free speech laws. Only way to really nail one is if he is getting some sort of aid under the pretense. Don't feel bad, we've got one in our Vet Group and he was responsible for one of our most respected members, a Navy Corpsman with a Purple heart, to leave the group.

Several of us approached the Vet Center and protested it, but they just shrugged and rolled their eyes. "Boots on the ground" is the rule. He just changed his story again to include "Operation Babylift". He admitted he was only on the ground for less than one day. Now, maybe if he went down on the C-5 that crashed, yeah, but he hasn't said it because he knows there was a passenger manifest.

These guys are a lower form of dog robber.

I find it humorous that I can remember a time when people spit on me when I got home in uniform and called me 'baby killer'. Now we're popular! Don't know when the hell that happened. Everybody, or at least the scum of the earth, wants to be a 'Vet'. Notice that they're always; Rangers, or Green Berets, or Navy Seals, or Marine Recon. Never just an ordinary soldier. Oh! I forgot, EOD.

It's a f*cked up world we live in.

Still, I would have carved my initials in him or at least gave him a nice scar to memorialize the event.

there are very few imposters for force recon. There is so little info out there that with one or two questions you can spot a faker. Its not like the seals they post videos on their training. The shadows are safer. I say let the seals take the glory. And the fakers.

Maybe, Red, but they are stealing the thunder of guys like you that earned that fame. I knew I wasn't any kind of special forces type, so I reserve respect for those that did. I used to haul you guys out and back in and saw first hand how you guys gave 110%. I had to chase one guy around the cargo compartment with a compression bandage for his bleeding leg. He thought it was funny...a dumb old loady chasing him around.

These guys never pretend to be dumb old loadmasters, or infantry, or whatever, they steal from the elite that have worked their asses off to be in an elite outfit. Shitheads. What would be poetic justice is some of these judges sending these fakers to the sand. Let's see how puffed up they get when it's incoming.

I can honestly say I cant use most of my skills I learned in the corps. I truly wish I had been a cook or a mechanic. I wouldn't have the damned PTSD and I would have some skills that could make me some money in the real world.
I have bounced from so many different jobs. my average stay is 3-4 months. then some f*cker opens his mouth and I would do shit back. sigh. I was never good with comebacks so I would just hit em.
I just need to win the damned lotto. 40 million could build me one hell of a nice bunker complex.

Hey, you're tellin' my story as well. I've had more jobs in some years than most people have in a lifetime. I've got a couple of shovels, it's a start.

Let them have the fame. I think I used to care a lot more than I do anymore. Im just over it all now. I still feel pride in what I did and my efforts, I just am over the whole warrior thing. Today at least. its funny, yesterday I was all gung-ho and looking at photos and reliving shit. today im just exhausted by it all.
Im just under so much damned stress. I am seriously considering getting a shotgun and just hunting till I find the bitch. Is like no one gives a shit about my kids. I know that's not 100% true but it sure feels like it. I am sick of being told I am a bad guy when I never did a damned thing. I am getting real close to my limit.
