I voted ban although I never witnessed disrespect only constructive and open honest banter. So I guess I shall consider myself lucky or just a tune enough somehow to leave or carry on private conversations when I feel I cannot benefit from what is being discussed.

I'm with the ban as gives people time to cool off and reflect on things.

Time to cool off makes sense in my opinion as it follows general forum rules. If a staff member actually will check on the event, it will also limit pure ganging up on someone.

I have to admit, however, that I have never experienced anything inappropriate happening in the chatroom.

I am also extremely grateful that this forum is such a safe place. Thank you to all for that!

Well, after taking my normal Saturday off from the forum, it seems within such a short period the overwhelming majority is a short 1 hour ban.

Now implemented.

I also changed the vote time back to one minute, instead of two... thus speeding up the process after using it myself. As the time will be used for those who are in the chat, but away... so the painful person will only be present for a minute, then gone.

I am also sure there is a blocked users list... so you can block a user, which should remove their posts from you seeing them or them contacting you in the chat... haven't used it myself, as staff have different functions to members. Will have to go play in it with my test accounts.
