I'm not laughing. As a victim of gun violence (the major source of my ptsd) I hate the idea that civilians carry them. Personally (and I do mean this is my opinion) I don't mind if someone has one in their home to protect themselves in their home, or if they have guns for sport - i.e. hunting or clay shooting. But to carry around one on the streets - legal or not - you're asking for death. Even if I were armed the night of my assult, nothing would have changed except the fact that I may have shot an innocent person. There is a lot of uncertainty when it comes to guns, and carrying one. I'm sure many think "I will save the day" but when you're in that moment - there is no certainty of what will happen. Period.
