I thought of one thing that works for me and starts my morning off right. I burn sage in my bathroom first thing in the morning before emerging and greeting my husband. It actually does appear to elevate my mood, and given that I am an ex-painkiller addict and remember well the morphine days, that's saying something.

Every little bit helps.

Also, some people swear by Bach's Relief Remedy made with flowers and 27% alcohol. I tried it and was surprised that I had a bad reaction, even when I lowered the dose to almost nothing. That may be because it contains Star of Bethlehem, which is similar in its make to Digoxin which is given to patients with congestive heart failure. Of course everyone is different but I went from falling asleep at 3 am to not falling asleep at all. It revved up my heart. But it could work well with someone else's chemistry.

I know other people who've found Rescue Remedy helpful. I didn't, but mimilus (another Bach flower remedy) does help me.

Herbal tinctures/tissanes, especially those containing valerian and passion flower, are good for me.

Drinking lots of water - sipping throughout the day - helps me a surprising amount. Both room temperature and as a hot drink (but just water). Water makes a big difference to my nerves, and it also gives me something to fidget with.

This might sound a bit off the wall - if so please ignore it. But I find that if I go into a shop and look at things like a row of Bach flower remedies, herbal remedies or incense (only to burn in the room) if I breathe deeply, close my eyes and try holding or touching the different options I can get a sense of whether they'd have a good effect on me. I'll be aware of a slight calming or positive feeling.. It's much cheaper than buying lots of things without having any idea if they'll work or not, so it's worth a try if you're open to the idea.

@Hashi Wow you're nutty...totally just kidding!!:) I actually can relate to that but may not have thought to try it, I'm so grateful you said that! I'm going to try to today! Thank you:D

I wasn't getting passive aggressive with you. I am often misunderstood, such as now. It was more of a joking sort of light hearted statement and not said out of malice. I have been through benzo withdrawal a number of times. It's not like any other withdrawal in that it is prolonged. Drugs do not help with symptoms. You literally have to push through them and it sucks.

I can only go by what you say and you say that your anxiety is increasing as you hit tolerance. This is why I responded as I did.

PS You can't control the responses you get. Mine often go outside of the narrow scope of what is stated as people tend to get tunnel vision which isn't helpful.

Actually, members have some control the responses we see. If we don't find a particular person helpful to us, we can always block them and never have to read their posts again. Curating our accounts this way can stop a lot of negativity in it's tracks.

Actually, that's just the half of truth... @[DLMURL="https://www.myptsd.com/c/members/definitely-maybe.22192/"]Definitely..maybe[/DLMURL], as BloomInWinter already stated, you can block someone by clicking on that members tag and then just click on: IGNORE - You will indeed get postings of that member, though it's no longer visible for you.

This morning I woke up feeling guilty about this thread.

I don't want to block anyone, I value opinions that even completely contradict mine! @Solara I'm glad you haven't just been a 'yes' person to me. Reading your other posts I really appreciate your honesty.

I also am very sorry my doses were misleading, I definitely don't want to come off as dramatic! That's how I would talk to my doctors who knew the doses so I absolutely should have clarified. So I am sorry for coming across as dramatic or deceitful.

Thanks everyone for being so great on here. I've become a huge fan of lavender Epsom salts since and that is helping.

Thanks again:hug:

@Hashi - this one healer I went to does the same thing you mentioned - holding the product to get a positive or negative feeling.

She had me do this thing where I stand with feet together, put my hands comfortably on my body (I do one palm on solar plexus and other on upper chest), close my eyes and then ask my body to show me what Yes feels like and then again with No. My body goes to right for yes, and falls back for no. It's kind of fun!
