Shocked and tired! I, I've been using my 'former skills' as a Unit Secretary in the medical world. It has become quite a process getting a surgery scheduled. I used to schedule ob/gyn surgeries, birth inductions, and enjoyed it! I miss the people!
My Dad is having back surgery on Tuesday after a 7 month wait. He had some blood clots last June, and Coumadin (blood thinner) protocol, is to not go off of it at all for at least 6 months. On Tuesday, the Cardiologist put a filter into the vein that leads to his heart to keep any blood clots from getting through till he gets back onto the blood thinner.
Best news, only 1 inch incision, and 45 minutes of anesthestic! He is 80, which is a delicate age to be 'put out'. He's been in unrelenting low back pain for at least 2 years! I love enabling them both to stay here at their home for as long as they are here on Earth. It's only difficult when they are hurting, or mom's dementia causes a new issue.
So, shock wearing off, adrenaline is gone, and sleep is my next activity!
