I thank the fire service for cutting me from the wreck of my car,
I thank the surgeon, who fixed my smashed ankle and the corrective surgery to take the pain away and got me to walk again,
I thank my psychologist, who understood my crazy feelings and gave me the map to sort them out,
I thank my doctor for getting me the tests I needed that confirmed my cancer, and for not putting my symptoms down to mere stress,
I thank my medical team that saved me from almost certain death, thus given me a second chance at life,
I am thankful for the lessons learnt even if they were almost too heavy to bear,
I am alive; I have survived and will continue to seek the best that that has to offer, not just because I owe it to all the people above but more importantly to myself because like all of you out there I deserve happiness, while I work on those things that still trigger my stress,
Steve
