Met the neighbor across the street... who apparently was embarrassed because they'd lived in the neighborhood for 3 years but had "never met their neighbors". I told her, "Hey no problem that's more common these days, but if you need anything or are gonna be away from the house and want us to keep an eye on your place.. let us know."
 
Self-care, self-care, self-care. This has been my mantra today and really for a while now. Have worked very hard at reigning my mind in as I awoke anxious and it only increased during the morning. Went to the career center instead of being self-destructive and got help with my resume, picked up a book - The Mindful Way Through Anxiety (appropriate, much?!), ran some errands so that I wouldn't sit in the apartment and churn, turned away from addiction while at the store (temptations!), and now I'm out here while listening to jazz piano music. Pulling myself down off the ceiling. I wonder if I could put this on my resume as a skill. Crisis management, maybe? ;)

Ummm, I need to learn how to take a page from your playbook....

For myself, I've been fighting the good fight today thus far, working at being compassionate and level-headed while taking care of daily concerns and clearing the decks that I can.

I also went out in search of Easter treats for my basket. Still not sure about the sugar load so I didn't get anything, but I'm jonesing for some Peeps! :p Maybe tomorrow...
 
@Bearlinda - Peeps are bunny or chick shaped marshmallow forms that are then rolled in colored granulated sugar. You can Google search "marshmallow Peeps" to see pictures. Yummy, but so very not good for you! I only have them at Easter as a tradition. I try to get the purple bunnies! Jonesing is wanting something really badly: I believe it was used back in the day for someone needing a fix of some sort. :laugh: I'm just playing as I don't need such a sugar fix, but I don't think they were. At any rate, it's just slang.

For me today.... I made lemon cupcakes for tomorrow; will ice and add sprinkles tomorrow. Also, whipped up some dressed eggs and prepped rosemary chicken for roasting tomorrow. Yep, Martha Stewart was in the house today.

I also slowed down and watched an entire movie - Moonlight in Vermont on the Hallmark channel. Very sweet. :inlove:
 
Got a big dose of vitamin d straight from the source shortly after the sun had risen. Caught it early before it gets blocked out.

Spent time grieving the loss of my dad to a brain tumor back in 1995 on this day. Had a good talk with his presence and a big release of tears.

Watered the plant life that will be sustaining us through the garden season, with any luck.

Took a couple nice sound baths, first with the birds and nature, and later with some favorite jams that prompted some beneficial movement.

Visit(ed) this sacred space to be virtually social for a while, here and there.

Smudged the house with sage and sweetgrass.

Used coconut/sweet orange/frankincense/magnesium gel moisturizing oil blend for some sweet aromatherapy time.

Soaked mung beans to sprout into some powerful deliciousness in just a couple days.

Was too restless to stay still long enough to individually stuff and neatly dip a bunch of dates in chocolate and wait for them to cool and such, so I just melted the chocolate into some peanut butter, stirred in some chopped walnuts, and just dip the dates as I eat them. lol That'll work. I may never stuff them again. Hahahahaha!
