What Did You Do For You Today???

Today I just went with the flow. I always have such a problem with deciding what to eat, and I've noticed how so often I just tell myself, no, you can't eat that, and then later I'm going to get it. After getting my favorite Mexican meal yesterday, it felt so good. I usually tell myself I can't get it, because I'm watching my money, but yesterday, it was on special, and I felt like it was meant to be.

So, today, I had no plans on what I was going to eat, or supposed to eat, and it felt good. I came home from the store with carmel apples marked down. I need to go with the flow more often like this!

Made a very nourishing chickpea, urid dahl and quinoa stew, with tomato base and spices and dried mushrooms brought back to life with water. It was so good and such a pleasure to cook instead of my default position which has been eating take away nearly every day for months and months, possibly years. Such is the life of a spinster.

It was really tasty though, and I feel so full. Heaps left over for tomorrow at my new job.

I also listened to some really great music by Devo, kate Bush and FNM, and played with the cat I'm minding, so I've had a fun day. I also did some cord cutting earlier and feel more joyful for having done it.

Had a talk with my husband about something that was really worrying me. My arms felt so heavy before I approached him, feeling that if my fears were correct, it would be too heavy a load for me to carry.

Anyhow, my fears appear to have been unfounded. My arms are light again.

Honest talks like that are scary. They were verboten growing up.

I filled the candy dish. More then likely I won't be eating the candy, but no one is complaining that it is stuck with old sticky candy. It was my mom's and she would have it on the side of her bed and my son would get one treat, usually nightly. They called it her stash. So filling it fills me with warmth. It's one of the things we kept, and my sister had no problem with, knowing my son's and his grammy's history.
