What Did You Want To Be When You Grew Up?

I always thought I was going to be a teacher.

Since I was the oldest in the family, we played "school" a lot of the time where I would be the teacher to my younger brother and sister and any of their friends that wanted to hang around.

Fortunately, however, in junior high, I took a typing class and from then on, I realized that was my calling, I would type for a living! lol

Chemist or physicist.

But after always getting straight As in math, I couldn't pass calculus to save my life, and I had a bunch of tutors.

A meteorologist but then you know math got in the way.

Then an illustrator and game designer, tattoo artist

Psychologist, forensic psychologist

Now I just want to be responsible and make goof choices

As a kid, police man. (or a dog, but that wasn´t very realistic).
As a teen I wanted to join the army, but my mother kind of broke that aspiration and I also developed PTSD around that age, so it really was a no-go. I´m still interested in it though.

From age 26 onward I wanted to be a pilot. That´s a job I´d still love to have, even if it´s only private aviation.
That and wilderness/survival instructor.

A vet. But really I wanted to work with animal behaviour and a vet was the only well known profession when I was growing up.

In the end I went to vet school, dropped out (burnout at 18...I wonder now if this was a sign I was struggling), worked in hospitality, as a model, recruitment, own business, resort restaurant manager, military musician and now I’m a scientist - animal behaviour and welfare - so full circle.
