What Does "normal" Look Like For Us?

@cupfish I feel exactly as you describe you feel right now. Similar to @FridayJones I too have led a (can't say totally symptom free) but close to symptom free life for the last 14 years. At least I've been able to utilize the tools learned in therapy to manage my triggers and the triggers were few and far in between. However, the last year and a half has been very hard because of a new memory surfacing and major life changes, including the death of my father.

I've had a very difficult time believing I'm not going crazy because what I could once manage somewhat easily, right now, seems impossible for me to manage. However, each day is getting a little better and I hold onto faith, hard work and a lot of reminders about self care, that my PTSD will be manageable again. I'm back in therapy and reassured by my therapist and friends that this is possible.

Hang in there, it does sound like you are, but make sure you are taking care of yourself. Thanks for sharing, you're question and descriptions of feelings have been very helpful to me.
