What Is Wrong With Me? What Should I Do?

The herb - Valerian - is a good relaxant. It relaxes the body and mind and doesn't have side effects like drugs do.

It's great for sleep, take two an hour before bed, and when you wake up there is no grogginess. When I take them I don't wake up all night. You can get tablets or a tea which smells like smelly socks.

Sometimes I take a couple before work if I'm going through a bad patch, after some incident has stirred everything up again.

It takes a few days for the indescribable PTSD symptoms to retreat to their bunker, the messy noisy damaging viking things they are.

I've taken it before. My body rejected it. Made me sick for the whole next day. I thought it was a bug, so I tried it again and the same thing re-occurred.

Yes, I agree they are indescribable. Thank you for your input Sorrento.

Um. Wow. :(

Seriously, take a self-defense class, martial arts, kickboxing, and so on. Knowing you can protect yourself goes a long way towards improving your sense of confidence. You don't have to fight; but knowing you aren't guaranteed to be someone's victim gives you a sense of strength you can tap into when those moments of fear rise up. Cheap and free classes are available through community programs, the YMCA/YWCA & so on.

Oh trust me, I have had training. I have had the training before the incident. When in those moments we also panic. We can't always fight and win. Defending myself made matters worse.

I know I should of left and got help the first moment. It was my mistake. I have learned from that mistake. I will never make it again!

Hi Kla
I read your entry at the top again. What would you think about going outside just to go outside?
Not to go to a shop or talk to anyone.

Could you try this? Walk somewhere for 10 minutes then stop and rest as long as you want. Then go back home. Imagine taking yourself for a walk in the way some people act as carers to take elderly or injured people for a rehab walk. You have been injured too.

Somehow I missed this post.

Do you force yourself through the anxiety? ABSOLUTELY! By bowing down to your anxiety you are effectively reinforcing these anxious feelings. You should be fighting against the anxiety. Pushing yourself to the mailbox is what is known as a type of exposure therapy and exposure therapy is pretty much the go-to therapy for this type of anxiety disorder.

Yes, I know how much it sucks because I've been there. But, in my case, I had no choice but to force myself to go out and face the anxiety. I was living alone and thousands of miles from friends and family. It took a LOT of time and energy, but over time things got better.

I've seen a lot of stories of those who just give in to the anxiety. The truth is that the anxiety doesn't just go away one day. If you don't fight against it, the anxiety will only get worse. Yes, it's hard work, but it's SO worth putting in the energy to heal.
