What Is Your Plan To Get Healthy In 2013?

I had forgotten how many people plan to lose weight at the start of the new year. Well, that is my plan to, so I went to the book store to buy the Dukan Diet book and the whole diet section was almost completely bare. Apparently everyone else had that thought before me, lol.

Regardless, my plans for this year are to lose weight, finally. I put on so much when my marriage went to crap, it's time to get rid of it, now that I've gotten rid of him. I also hope to learn enough that I do not start 2014 in therapy. I want to get well enough to feel confident on my own. I think that's doable now that I have a good therapist.
 
I've started having breakfast. At first my grandmother and I would fight. "Eat breakfast jen!" "No!" "You have to have something." "Okay" *grab breakfast bar.* Now my Granny is gone for a month and I miss our "spats" (It's all good... it's gotten to be a routine. Wouldn't really call it a fight... just a tradition?)

Now I miss my Granny so much I've started to eat breakfast on my own. I make smoothies. (I'm having one right now!) I'm also trying to force myself to like fruit by making smoothies. It's working so far. Still in experimental phase discovering smoothies. I'll make a post about it.

Anyway, I find myself less hungry during the day now and more full. :D It's great to have breakfast! :D And that is my healthy plan in 2013, Eat breakfast, eat when hungry, eat more fruit.
 
My goal is to lose 60 pounds. So far I've lost 8 in about a month. I'm excercising much more through exercise classes and apps on my phone.

I'm also being more careful about what I eat. My eating is very restricted due to severe anxieties (phobias?) around most foods. This has left me eating nothing but crackers for days at a time. Not a great or effective way to lose weight. Right now I'm focusing on the few things I can eat and choosing to eat items from that list that are more nutritious for my body.

I've worked with my therapist on food exposures and have even been able to eat an orange. Unfortunately then I regress to not even being able to look at one and have to start over. It's such a daily struggle to even be around others who are eating and since food is everywhere it's one goal I hope to focus on harder this year. It affects all aspects of health from basic physical health to mental health. It's hard to be social in a way that doesn't involve food in a society that bases so much on food and entertaining. I have to avoid simple, everyday situations because of this food issue.
