I really wish they'd remove POWs, combat, war torn f*ckery, and other forms of complex trauma over the age of where developmental trauma is possible off the damn list.
Trying to find anything that is complex trauma, that isn't developmental trauma, is already hard enough. For every book that's supposedly on complex trauma that I've tried to wade through, I could tear out the pages and get a pamphlet sized packet easily read over a cup of coffee. Not super useful.
CPTSD = Complex Trauma
CPTSD = Developmental Trauma
CPTSD = Complex Trauma = Developmental Trauma
All rectangles are squares? Can't have complex trauma unless you were a kid? Some books are so bad it's essentially a book entirely about developmental trauma, with a paragraph listing out all the other forms of complex trauma without even bothering with a paragraph each of lip service much less equally dedicated space.
I'm sorry. There's probably better ways to phrase this. I'm just so sick and damn tired of being told I have complex trauma and then being given resources on child abuse. Which doesn't apply. At all. Is nowhere on my list. Unless we wanna talk being responsible for dead & f*cked up kids.
Either that, or don't call the life I've lived complex trauma period. Call it f*cking Percival for all I care. But it ain't developmental trauma.
