What Made You Happy Today?

Though I haven't been managing too well lately I actually have stopped dissociating enough so that I am actually present in my house so I can see what needs to be thrown out a bit more. So I have been throwing stuff out. I am happy about this.

I am happy that I have a friend from overseas and his partner coming from Sydney today. As a result of their impending visit. I cleaned up quite a bit. I mopped the floors. I threw out stuff. I made the bed. I washed up. I made the bed. I cleaned the bathroom. I found things I didn't need and decluttered. So this is good. I am very happy that I was able to get moving.

Ms Spock!!! Hi!!! You know I feel great joy every time I see a post from you!! I am so happy for all you were able to do to prepare for your friend and his partner's visit! That's wonderful Ms Spock, it really is! When will they be visiting? What time is it there in Sydney? It's 6:40pm here!
P.S. About it being hard to get rid of things, I have the opposite difficulty! I can't KEEP anything, but give everything away!

What made me happy today is that I found a sound machine that is inexpensive and has really good reviews! It's the 'Conair SU1W Sound Therapy, Silver' and is $9.99 at Amazon.com right now.

It has 10 sounds and the ones I am most excited about are birds(I love listening to birds!!!) and crickets(I love listening to crickets too!) I'm including a link so you can check it out on Amazon if you like, and a nice video review of the product. (The lady plays most of the sounds for you so you can here what it sounds like!) :)

Thank you kim. I love birds as well. I like crickets (real ones). They are a good alarm system. When they stop, you know something is close.

I got to play the piano today. First time since I had to sell my piano in 2000. I consider it a Christmas gift to me. I also walked all the way from the car to the chapel. Isn't that exciting? It was to me.

A story I read about the Christmas Trading Game. It is entitled "Hans and the Trading Game" by Joe Wheeler. It is in a book I have called THE TWELVE STORIES OF CHRISTMAS. It brought back memories, both good and bad, about the playing of the game and how it goes in reallife. I've ended up with gifts I really loved (and others dreaded they'd end up keeping) and ones that left me feeling as if someone hunted in an old box in their basement or attic for what I'd ended up with. All the characters in the story were ones I'd lived one Christmas or another! But the playing of the game is the real fun, watching others and how they react to the gifts that are opened and traded. There are always a lot of laughs and "laughter is the best medicine."

Well, not PTSD related, but today after church services, they had activities for the kids. Cookie decorating, crafts, etc. My grandson made this Christmas card for his brother, who is about 18 months. I love the spelling.

He made a card for me too and it was cute because he picked out a sticker of an angel to put at the top of the drawing of a Christmas tree, because of the one we have topping our tree. His attention to detail!!
