Gonna call my credit card co. tomorrow. Spock first brought up the irregularities and this pretty much seals it for me. Other folks would use the money better.

WWP = clowns that were very keen to take advantage of the hottest charity trend going: Combat Vets. Baby boomers still carry a lot of guilt on how they abandoned their own family, generation after Nam. And now they got money $$$$ and want to pay off their own guilty complex. Plus, the Nam vets are also grown-up and very capable with big voices (numbers) and were not about to let that shit happen again so they drew a big, effin line in the sand for the public and media types. You don't screw with the vets! You got a gripe, address the politicians you voted into office.
Glad to see the veil getting lifted on WWP more and more. I became a WWP alumni while I was still in treatment on AD at Walter Reed-Bethesda and thought they cared. Now, a few years later after working and networking in the Vet not-for-profit world it cannot be more obvious. WWP does just enough to claim they help but as an alumni, all I get is a free T-shirt now and then and invitations to bike rides. They completely failed at the Heroes for Hire program I depended on to seek a j.o.b. They wouldn't even hire me to work for a position with them, they chose some kid out of college with no military background. They do some good but it is mostly about 6 figure incomes for the dudes running it. There are numerous sites to compare how much money goes to the source = vets. How much goes to running the org (sounds like inefficient government bureaucracy scam) and for crying out loud, the most obvious thing, how much goes into marketing themselves. Like the ACA inured animals commercials. They buy primetime spots on various channels and sporting events, that is huge bucks!!!. You think those celebs do that shit for free...go to their sites and see what they charge per session.
BTW DAV hasn't done shit for me either, they're old school wankers that talk big and can't be bothered.
I've heard the Amer Legion and VFW have some big infighting going on as the old vets weren't too ready for new vets showing up. a lot of comparing whose combat was worse crap like a bunch of whiny kids. The word seems to have gone out to cut that crap out as newer groups like WWP, Concerned Vets & IAVA (also all about themselves and getting press) started pulling numbers from the Legion and VFWs.
I really don't have time for it all. I focus on groups that are targeted on specific functions I want to get involved in. It is all so big. As soon as people sniff money, all the snakes come out. Leave us the hell alone!!!
