What Makes You Angry Today?

My brother who is only 39 had a heart attack last night. Perfect picture of health, works out, eats right, lives a good clean life. Had knee surgery 2 months ago, clot broke free and damaged his heart. Pace maker, apex of the heart damaged and potentially will have to remove some of the tissue. BP bottomed out cause of a bleeder, two more hours of surgery 3 1/2 hours after getting out of surgery for the pace maker. Needless to say despite the depression, anger, guilt and handful of other emotions I'm walking around a little lost dazed and confused.

I hope that his age and the fact he is in good health will

Sorry to hear about your brother. You just never know what's around the next corner. Every second is precious, especially when we spend them with people we love and care about.

Good news he's sitting up complaining about the food. Doctors still have some concern about the lack of good blood flow to legs but my folks say he is doing well.

What made me angry today - I crushed, not smashed as with a hammer, I crushed the end of my left pinky with a cement mixer today. It was off, and I was getting ready to clean it after using it. I turned the barrel by hand to get out a little bit of cement that was stuck behind a blade. Unfortunately, being tired, hot and in a lot of pain, I didn't pay attention to where my left hand was. My pinky got caught between the drive gear and the barrel.

It crushed the fingernail almost completely off ripping it out completely from the root. Only a little skin at the tip held it on. The tip bone was also crushed, broken in several places. I got 5 stitches to put the skin under where the nail was back together.

I've had my share of boo-boo's through the years. It seems silly. I've had a few broken bones, nose, ribs, gotten badly cut, burned, bruised, etc, but this hurt much worse. The only thing that hurt worse for me is kidney stones (twice). I know my fibromyalgia contributed to the pain, it sets up something like a feedback loop on a stereo with an open mic too close to the speaker. A little pain turns into a lot of pain. A lot of pain that would normally be tolerable becomes overwhelming.

I normally have a high pain tolerance. I've walked around, gone to work, etc with cracked ribs and only used Motrin for pain. Today... I had no pain tolerance. Even the I.V. they put in for meds hurt like the 7th level of hell. :devil: You can guess how I did with the crushed finger.

I cut the blood supply off to my trigger finger on friday tryin to carry too much shopping from the car. Now i cant feel anything in it at all.

Honestly... today is the first day in a loooong time I do not feel angry... so just gonna chill and take a break.. \
