What Makes You Angry Today?

Its not guns.....It is something else entirely. How do no less than 50 Federal agents pop up within minutes (expecting something folks) and why is there always a mysterious 2nd person involved not to mention psychiatric drugs.

What am I angry about. Truth, the lack thereof and actual rule of the law.

Got stopped by the police......again yesterday. Illegal personal searches of random persons on a public street. But because I question it every time....they won't search me. Hmmmmmm

In fact lets go the whole hog and teach the Under Fives how to use a Bradley, five to Eight year olds how to use an Abrams, and over Eights Apaches!

That's the problem. We do teach kids this shit. Via music and TV. A constant steady stream of desensitizing murder, violence, and mayhem. Track the rise of modern media from the 70's onwards and I'll show you a corresponding rise in murder rate. Show me where "Gansta Rap" became mainstream and popular and I'll show you a nice spike in murder. Show when the shooter games came into being and the possibility for every kid to go on line and murder 1000's in the quaint comfort of their own home and then lets take a look at the dawn of the school shootings.

In West Germany (at that time) They had a law that nobody under 18 could play a video game. I got kicked out of an arcade. Somebody thought that perhaps kids who really don't understand the first thing about how a human could kill another human, would be better off tackling that subject as an adult.

I think the one thing that people do not understand about the US today is that it absolutely seethes with violent propaganda. Why does a 5 year old know the definition of "lock and load"? You can't keep the kids away from this shit unless you absolutely keep him or her at home...school them yourself. And then you will get allot of flack from the government if you do it.

The fact is the US government is screwing around with this in a big way. I would not be surprised if the guns used in the recent shooting were at some point bought and paid for with tax money by a government agency. Look up Operation Fast and Furious and Operation Wide Receiver. All is not well and all is not what it seems.

You mentioned Civil War Angle. I think many common sense citizens are trying to avoid that one, most of them responsible gun owners. Nobody wants it from that side of things. But somebody keeps on pushing. And while anyone who questions the answers is called "A conspiracy theorist"; which is News Speak for "crazy". Facts still remain facts. The US always had guns. Hell, it used to have a higher proportion of the population armed. And where guns are absolutely outlawed in the US, they have the highest crime rates. New York City and Chicago. There is no correlation whatsoever. Then you go to Texas where there are many many more guns and crime rates are much lower. Absolutely no correlation to the proposal that guns are the actual problem. It's like treating PTSD with a 12 step program ala AA.

You may be angry to hear about it Angle, but I'm angry for an entirely different reason. I'm angry that I've lost my country to a bunch of self serving f*cks who drove us into bankruptcy and now want to get on with the general population slaughtering each other. I'm angry that as a US citizen and still proud to be so, that I have to listen to an endless stream of sickening spew on how bad America is and how we are all gun toting maniacs. I'm angry that there are now many more places on this earth that I cannot show my face for the simple fact that I am a US citizen. Do you know what happens with common US citizens in other countries? We don't talk to each other. We don't trust each other. If we do talk to each other we go through a series of test questions to figure out which side you are on. It was not always like that. But since 2001 it has been. You have to think about the very deep social and economic events in the country that creates a general mistrust between its countrymen. And it has absolutely nothing to do with guns.

There are two sides. The people who want more government baby sitting, handouts and free Obama phones and those that would rather have no government involvement at all. Civil War? yeah perhaps it's coming. But it won't be about guns. It will be about slavery....again. Only this is of a bit different nature. Slaves to the banks and slaves to a few select corporations who have bought the government part and parcel. Same shit in other "aligned" countries, believe it or not.

Also, it is not a good thing to listen to main stream media at all. It is obviously designed to play on the emotions of the public.....shape public opinion. In 1984 it was called "The hour of hate". Yes, lets all hate the NRA. WTF? That guy is not speaking for the NRA. He's just an asshole stirring shit. I wouldn't be surprised if the US Government is now sponsoring the NRA to make it look like a bunch of gun toting idiots. f*cking shameless. And nobody says a word.

Now let me kick this f*cking soap box into the wall and go get a drink. Damn!!!

I'd thought about creating a thread about some of the things you guys are talking about but since we're here talking, I'll just go ahead.

I lost a good friend this week, killed by a drunk driver. Someone that had his license revoked for 10 years, had jail time for being DUI, was so drunk at the scene that he couldn't even stand up when the cops got him out of what was left of his car. My friend was in his truck on his way home from work. Going to be with his family; wife and two small kids. Wonderful people, great guy. He was hit so hard that he died almost instantly from a broken spine.

We've had laws in this country for a long time about DUI. So, what difference did it make. The drunk has more than a drinking problem, obviously, he needed help to get his life straightened out but never got it. Now many lives have been ruined forever.

Point is, if I thought that giving up my guns would make this world a better and safer place I'd be the first to toss them into the fire. Fact is it won't make a difference. The focus needs to be, not a what would seem like the quick fix, but on the underlying problem. Mental illness.

The ones that are truly a danger to both themselves and others don't get help and fall through the cracks. We here understand mental disorders; it's why we're here, it's why we get therapy and try to make a better life for ourselves and our families. The ones that need it won't get it.

If there has ever been a mental low point of world civilization we're surely in it right now. I don't know the answer to how to fix things, I'd give all that I have to know that.

The journey towards peace for ones self is a long, difficult and convoluted trail. You have to find that way the best that you can.

Events that occur like this make me more sad than angry in the knowledge that I, as one person, can't really do anything to change it all. Sad at what my country's become.

Hey Combat

Hate to double post but I wanted to mention a few things. Your urinary infection could be something more than that. Especially if it's gone on as long as it has. Not to get you worried but you must do this; go to a urologist and get your bladder scoped, have your doctor get a scan on your kidneys as well. Many bladder and kidney problems show up first as a urinary infection. Don't wait, do it now. I won't go into the whys and wherefores here and now but if you want me to let me know or pm me. Seriously, call your doctors NOW.

OK, first sorry for the multiple posts, wasn't able to edit any of the above.

So, what makes me angry today?

Self serving, idiots that take an absolutely awful situation and find a way to make it a platform for their twisted ideas of either why it happened or how to fix it. Let me make it clear that I have NO political affiliations and I'm not point to a particular party or mindset. Just how people can use in a totally uncaring way the murder of innocent children as a way to stay in the lime light.

I think that the events that happened in an elementary school will start a truly meaningful dialog about what's gone wrong in America and how to fix it. Personally, I feel that this event will have the same impact on our country as 911 did. Just a note that this, as always, is only my opinion. The whole thing makes me VERY mad.

We all know that guns don't kill people, people kill people. Making semi-auto weapons illegal won't stop the problem, someone with a couple of hand guns and a bolt action can do just as much damage. Here in Australia we had the gun buy back scheme. Guns are not illegal, you can have a good long rifle if you belong to a club like the sporting shooters, and you can have a hand gun for the same. There are still semi-auto's out there, but with the bad guys.

The biggest problem is with the media. Any psycho who want's to be famous after he has died only has to go out with a bang and not care how he does it. Morgan Freeman made some comment similar. If they did not name the gunman or the psycho etc, and no mention of that person's name was ever produced, people might not go that way.
The media frenzy just relives so much this day and age.

Over there you have a big gun club which sways the government. Well can you answer me one question.
If they are serious about weapons and shooting, hunting etc, I have no problem, but why do you need M16's to shoot game??? That is not sport. Get rid of the f*ckers.

Hey Jimmy

Good post Mate. To try and answer your question the best that I know how is this. The NRA has a HUGE membership. I had been a member many years back but quit because they were backing political candidates that not only supported the right to own a gun but also had other agendas that weren't in line with my own beliefs. Today it's even more so. There is big money, politics and people involved in the NRA that have absolutely no stake in gun ownership but are looking for votes and influence peddling. There's a lot of money to be made from the sale of guns of all types. Military weapons are cool to shoot. But are best left in the hands of the people in the military.

I know many people that hunt game for food. None, absolutely none use an M16 or other assault type of weapon. Actually when things like what happened in that elementary school occur, gun sales go up. Hope I answered your question or at least gave my own opinion on the subject.

Many people seem to think they know the answer to solving this problem of violence in America. Their solutions are singular and simple, the problem is complex and convoluted. We're all caught in the middle. I don't think there is an easy answer that will satisfy everyone or make it safe.

The problem is the nutter with the gun. And somethings are well dodgy about the Connecticut incident. If it wasn't a gun, it'd be a bomb. Or a machete. Or an aircraft.

I swear people lately are trying to trigger me...I had to give up my house, my relationship of 10 years is destroyed, I quit school, quit therapy, and today I had to give up my dog. The only thing that I have left is my vehicle and my job. After that I truly have nothing.

Hey CG, hang in there mate. When they booted me out, the did not pay me for a bit, I had my car repossessed, I had to pay the ex, I stopped going to therapy, stopped taking medication and looked for answers in the bottom of a bottle of bourbon, or written on the inside of the paper I used to roll a joint.
Funny enough I found no answers there....

It will be your turn for a good run of luck soon buddy, just tough it out. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, or sends us mental.. lol.
