Today, Fox news makes me angry. They are a group of scum-sucking alarmist assholes incapable of providing facts. All they do is fear mongering and spread misinformation to support their advertising agenda. I must be old, because MSNBC appears to be the only news channel I can watch without my urge to kill rising...

Norwegian TV pisses me off so much I don't watch it anymore. f*cking NRK wants 700 dollars a year to watch the motherf*cker. Hows that for value.

I think experience is a good teacher, Sludge. I think all the news is about programming and ratings. They're more interested in those things than in presenting the facts of any situation. I think the BBC or the news from the WEALTH channel have a more rounded opinion as well as the news from someplace other than the US. Think about it, how many news shows have attractive women newscasters?, ALL. It may sound sexist but it's true.

Their opinion is slanted as well. BBC that is. They also are very selective on reportage, especially when it comes to the government or perhaps a certain ex Prime Minister they are trying to hang for Iraq.

I do this:

-No American sources of news....Once in a great while I look at the NY Times
-BBC News British
-The Telegraph British (You'd be surprised on how different they are)
-Voice of Russia (Want to know what the US military is actually doing..look here)
-Korea Times.
-China Times.

All are propaganda machines so after you cruise through those, you end up somewhere in the middle. And no Norwegian news because their propaganda is crap...like 1950's. And who the hell cares what happens in Norway.

Can't we do that so we can get a look at the new folks before they post willienillie esp since we have been getting more members lately....I think some of them are spouses and not combat vets

Good point. I was curious since you posted just after I did and thought you might be talking about me. I know I wrote an intro but it does not appear on any of the searches I did and I checked some of the older members too. I notice the search engine only finds more recent entries. I don't mind. I will write it again but I am just surprised at how the database works. It's what I do for a living.

Being new I would be nice and play nice. You don't have enough information to understand the reason for her being this way. We have suffered many fools in here lately. And I don't think you need to concern yourself with it to much but please, show some decorum and respect to others. Lack of respect will get you booted off of here most ricky tick fyi.

No Man. It's the one thing we are anal about. And it is basically our only rule if you belong here. You would not believe the amount of trolls we have kicked out of here in the last 3 months. This is our safe spot, we keep it that way with constant vigilance. This is pretty much one of the best forums around. It generally never degenerates into huge arguments and insults.

We're all here for one thing and one thing only......Our mutual dance with the Beast.
