What Makes You Angry Today?

All the VA's are the same. When I was really unwell in the early days, they made several appointments with some stupid vocational therapist. The first appointment I went to. The dumb chick just could not get it through her head. She asked me what I wanted to do when I discharged. I told her I did not want to get out, they were medically discharging me and I was unfit to work at all. So she asked me what I would like to do. I walked out and never returned for the next two appointments.

Anyway, six months down the track or longer during an appeal on one of my claims they brought up the fact that I was not interested in helping myself because I did not attend military or VA organised appointments.

They try to get you every way.

I swear I work with a bunch of pussies and incompetent co workers. The smallest mistake is made everyone acts like you murdered their puppy. I swear I have to increase my medication just to make it through an 8hr work day.

ANGRY ???? You BET I am !!!
I was in the 6990th Security Squadron at Okinawa and Korat,Thailand
from 1969-1970.
The $%^&*( VA can't read, don't read, or just plain incompetent !!!
They've said they doubt if I was in combat. Dumb MF VA Psych.
I was in Combat Apple, I was awarded the Combat Crew Badge,
I have received the Air Medal (with 3 oak leaf clusters), I was in
College Eye, I flew 104 combat missions,... I have turned in
the supporting documents (yes, I saved the important docs)
The VA believes we Vets are here on Earth to give them jobs
instead of they are here to take "care" of us vets.
Sometimes, I believe fighting the VA is worse than fighting a war.
They assigned me a Primary "care" doctor. However, the nurse
told me they (the VA) wasn't there to take "care" of us.
What part of "care" do you think they can't get straight?
I've qualified for Agent Orange exposure; I have diabetes,
PTSD, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.
STILL, they deny me my earned benefits.

My DD214 tells it all !!! I've submitted over a thousand
pages of documents they have requested.

ANGRY, your story reads like mine; just a year or two later.
Has anyone in the 6990th been able to get the VA benefits
you earned? If so, please contact me and tell me how you
accomplished that amazing task.

Sometimes, I believe I have "found the enemy" and it is the VA.

O.K., Charles, take it from someone that made every mistake one can make while dealing with the VA. Consequently, it took me thirty years to get properly rated. Now, the paramount fact of dealing with them is lose the anger. You act out your anger and you can expect repercussions, in spades.

Ask your doctor from something the mellow you out, or beat the hell out of a punching bag. Whatever.

Second, go to www.hadit.com. Those ladies there know more about VA law than the VA does. Be nice and they will tell you exactly how to manage your claim with a higher possibility you will win.

Lastly, be very careful about referring to the VA as "the enemy". The VA will mold and shape that statement into a threat and turn your butt into the DHS. And they will make your life hell. Napolitano considers all of us combat Vets as terrorist and has stated so.

My suggestions. Take them or not. Your call.

Hey Charles

I'm a 'Nam vet also. What you said is exactly how I feel and what I've dealt with too. It's a fight to the death with the VA. It shouldn't be but it is. Sarg's advice is spot on though. If you want to have any chance of getting what you need and deserve you have to deal with them in an effective manner or you'll get the boot and won't be taken seriously. The site he has a link to is terrific. Best of luck.

Also, Welcome to the forums. Glad you've found us. Good people here and a ton of info.

Hey Charles...you might engage the DAV also if you have not already. BTW, there is a 6990th alumni FB page, always ones for Eielson & Mildy and a RC-135 Alumni Assoc.

I'm nearing wits end about my girlfriend's ex. She mentioned having break issues, and was going to have them checked. Her brake line was cut. She got it repaired, then the ex has the kid. He says he'll drop her off later tonight then sends a message this morning indicating that my gf's father has her. So she calls her father and she doesn't have the kid. Then the ex messages her asking why her car is parked in front of my house. Like its any of his business.

After 3 calls to her ex he finally picks up and agrees to meet her at the store up the street to drop off her daughter. The guy is sketchy as f*ck and he's my prime suspect in the issue with her brakes. It was clearly cut, no indication of it being normal wear and tear.
