What Makes You Angry Today?

Mate we have the same issues here. They will knock back a veterans claim the first time, they did for me, I was lucky I had an advocate though. I had to appeal it but won.

The VA's all around the world are just big medical insurance companies. I may be wrong, but if you are clinically diagnosed with PTSD and the psych attributes it to your war service, then they are liable, how much they pay is based on the severity of your diagnosis.
The same goes for injuries, if they can attribute your injury to 'service', they are liable, and it's just the severity of the disability that matters.

A lot of lawyers are friends with the VA lawyers etc, etc, just like you get doctors and psychs who are Pro VA and those that are not.

Angle might be able to put you in touch with advocacy centres.

Can you give him a contact number mate, so he does not get hosed over.

Makes sense mate. He just made me think when he Said it's not a claim because they diagnosed me and tried to treat me (3months post tour that is).

I'll give angle a pm. Cheers mate, this process is demoralizing

Good luck, Dan. I can hardly clunk around the American VA system, so I'm totally at a loss but Jimmy is telling you straight, don't give up. Either country, they make it hell to get through the system.

Sarg

I will continue the fight for a bit, it's just allot of stress on top of important stuff I've got going on.

Not going to get a break until June next year when this degree finishes. That lawyer ruined my day. Anger is not fading.

I've put feelers out to a few different folk, let's see what happens. I nearly took down my medals tonight off my wall, feel hurt and as if I deserve this shit.

The same mate, I have a letter from DVA which basically accused my psych of making stuff up. He was so pissed. I don't think that guy works for the VA anymore.

You served your country Dan, you deserve better, don't let them bring you down. I boxed up my medals and smashed a CD with all my photos of Iraq on it. The couple I have now I recovered from an old hard drive. I am waiting on a CD from a couple of my diggers who were with me.

Dan,
That is good feedback from Jimmy & Sarg...there are so many hurdles and so much drama it is horrible and unfortunately, a major source of breakdown for our battle buddies. You need to keep focused down range so you can limit how bad it gets to you. Best wishes brother.
Stay safe, stay strong...

Discrimination.webp

Have joined some other vets in a battle over discrimination by the Military Services against wounded warriors. We've talked to the press but are holding off to see if any of our representatives will stand with us or if they're hold the fail line. It can be a big stressor but we are called to do it for all the younger folks we've met that were simply trampled and purposely discarded by the bureaucratic system. We're all wounded warriors with PTSD and/or TBI but we know the system counts on folks to give up or die, so we're working together as a team to limit our exposure to triggers. It is hard and we know you can't beat the system but now is the time to push while vet issues are still getting some press.

Asked a solicitor to help me process a claim for my ptsd, after much deliberation, my psychologist said it may help process certain stuff.

Today I'm Told I may not even have a claim because the army diagnosed me whilst I was still serving. Diagnosed me then let me tear my life apart. Never signposted me or anything for when I left. It has to be unnoticed ptsd! So if I lose a finger I get cash, lose your mind and get sod all if they diagnose it; part of war fair enough, so why did I even bother? Because people said I should.

I then asked about the negligence incident I was involved in and the Solicitor stated that has been over 3 years so may well be Invalid now.

I bother to look at claiming to get hit with that. Made me feel worthless and f*cking angry. Back to being British and keeping a stiff upper lip.
I've got a bit of experience with the va claims process, if they diagnosed you while in service that will only help you not hurt you. I'll put some feelers out for you and see what kind of resources are out there in Hull, England for you. In the meantime hang in there, it's such a frustrating process.

I saw red tonight. The lesson of "never bite the hand that feeds you" doesn't seem to be a lesson my now ex girlfriend completed.

Another relationship ended. No more rescuing women when I'm really the one that needs rescued.

Thank you. I've been guided onto The RBL in Hull by anglesachse, they are sending a welfare officer out to me.

I'm always willing to listen to any advice you may have, so cheers mate!
