Mate we have the same issues here. They will knock back a veterans claim the first time, they did for me, I was lucky I had an advocate though. I had to appeal it but won.
The VA's all around the world are just big medical insurance companies. I may be wrong, but if you are clinically diagnosed with PTSD and the psych attributes it to your war service, then they are liable, how much they pay is based on the severity of your diagnosis.
The same goes for injuries, if they can attribute your injury to 'service', they are liable, and it's just the severity of the disability that matters.
A lot of lawyers are friends with the VA lawyers etc, etc, just like you get doctors and psychs who are Pro VA and those that are not.
Angle might be able to put you in touch with advocacy centres.
Can you give him a contact number mate, so he does not get hosed over.
Makes sense mate. He just made me think when he Said it's not a claim because they diagnosed me and tried to treat me (3months post tour that is).
