My favorite music is the Les Mis soundtrack. I took French in high school, and the teacher let us watch Les Mis in senior year. I was attracted to the dichotomy of an operatic musical that told real life of poor people. When I got a job, I bought the soundtrack on CD. I listened to it in bed with earphones until I memorized it. For a long time it was the only music that made me feel anything. I often pull it up for another listen even now:
