Ok, so this is a new one for me. I've had sleep disturbances such as insomnia, sleep walking, and sleep paralysis before but I've never had this before. Does anyone know what this is? I had been sleeping for a while. I woke up half way and was in that kind of half asleep state. My cats as usual were cuddled around me in my bed. Suddenly, I got this thought in my head like I should get them away from me so that I wouldn't accidentally hurt them while thrashing around uncontrollably. I couldn't understand why I thought this because I had never had seizures or anything else that would cause me to thrash around uncontrollably at any point in my life. Also, my body felt totally normal and relaxed and not like I was about to loose control of it. Then all of a sudden, I completely lost control of my body. It began to thrash around in the bed uncontrollably. I also had a strange moaning sound coming out of my mouth that at first I didn't even realize was coming from me and that I also couldn't control. My cats immediately freaked out and ran like hell. I wasn't upset or in discomfort. It really didn't bother me like it should have. I didn't feel much of anything. After it was over I just kind of shrugged it off, rolled over and went back to sleep. That's not really a normal reaction for me totally awake. I must have still been in some altered state to be so nonchalant about it. The next morning I woke up and thought, "what the **** was that?" Anyway, does anyone have any insight on this? I tried googling and found no answers. The only prescription med I'm on is zoloft. I also take zzzquil over the counter but my doctor said that was ok to keep taking with the zoloft. Would it cause something like that? Has anyone else had something like this? Thanks,
