Having to tell someone I have PTSD, and they look for exits, and I have to explain (again) that they don't have to worry, I'm not going to go berserk and start shooting everyone. To look at me, no one would be afraid, but say PTSD and suddenly you've got a chainsaw and hockey mask.

I don't think you should be talking to strangers about family buisnesse. Besides it's all in your head and you are just hurting yourself and you can't blame anyone else for that but you.

Completely agree DIH - its probably that kind of patronising misjudgment which drives a PTSD sufferer elsewhere. Any time you express yourself in any kind of emotional way its like 'ahhhh, she's having a PTSD fit'. Yet I've seen carers act like complete and utter *(^((*^).

Sometimes I just wanna say 'I've got PTSD. What's your excuse? Or are you just an a-hole by nature?'
