I think that's common with people in school, regardless of age they arrived there in. (I got to finish my education/ high school, college, with pretty much quiiite delays, comparatively. I've had some help, given the teachers at one major were rather aware I need that degree to get a semblance of normal employment, and I look way younger than my age.
Still there was the 'focus on the school work, that's what you're here fooor' attitude. I don't think it's a bad thing necessarily; they're teachers and trying to get the work done. Their job as teachers, they're being responsible. But it *can* make studying emotionally impossible if one has different-f*cking-problems at the moment.
Basically it helps to consider they're just doing their job if wanting one to focus on school. Note: I'm talking about healthy pushing that can feel unhealthy because of trauma/other health issues. I'm *not* talking abuse or degradation of students just because they can. Power jerks are whole different kettle of fish.).
