Fed up,yet again.

Tomorrow we were due to attend court for the same ongoing case .

Been diffusing the hubs all week, things have been tense beyond belief. This stupid case has dragged on for a year now and the next step is to get an independant psych report presented to the court and prosecution...this part has been "happening" since late December.

The psychiatrist who is getting a hefty private fee for the job still has not delivered the document..this is now the 3rd adjournment caused by waiting for it.

So now it is apparently going to be with our solicitors for next week in plenty of time for us to view it before the new date of next thursday.

I won't hold my breath.

It realy needs to be there though or I can see another admission being on the cards.

Who takes a hefty private fee for a job and then callously misses deadlines repeatedly due to beggaring off on a family holiday whilst a suicidal man whose freedom depends upon it hangs in the balance?

Wouldn't mind but everyone who's heard of the case says it should never of got to the arrest stage never mind ending up in court.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

If you ever end up locked into constant flashbacks of a violent nature, make sure you do not end up in a UK NHS psych intensive care ward or they will restrain you and then sue you for minor bruising that comes from them holding you down...

First off ~ what?!? He is being sued by a UK NHS Psych ward for a causing bruises to somone while he was in a state of flashbacks.... It's a risk you take by working at a Psych ward....hello, these people aren't here on vacation. (okay sorry - ranted a bit)

Anyway, that is awful about the psych doc who apparently has his own agenda. That is one nice thing about karma - he will get his. You may not see it, but it will happen. ;)

I'm sooo sorry you and your husband are going through this - it just isn't right. Virtual hug sent your way... ((((wife of))))

Oh feel free to rant away, its so wrong its diabolical.

He was in the middle of a full blown combat flashback and was restrained as he had a history of throwing furniture etc at the enemies he sees in his flashbacks and whilst being restrained by six male nurses, or as he saw them terrorists, he was obviously trying to fight them off when they decided he was struggling too much for the one on his leg to hang on properly. So during a positions change the guy who let go of his head got headbutted and it left bruising on his arm.

Despite 5 witness statements off the other nurses all claiming my hubs was shouting about them being a specific terrorist faction this flaming case made it into the court system.

The police say it shouldn't of,his solicitors says it shouldn't of and all other health proffesionals who have heard about it say it shouldn't of except for the psychiatrist who did the first report...

This report is the second one and only came about at our insistance due to the 23 pages of inaccurate crap that the first psych churned out. That one included such gems as the fact that she did not see any reason why someone who was dissociated or in flashback would not be fully concious of thier being in the real world and repeatedly pointed out that he was in the psych intensive care ward on a voluntary basis making it sound like he fancied a cheap alternative to butlins..

All hugs much appreciated, hubs is out with a good and trusted friend walking the dog right now but I guess I'm in for yet another rocky week ahead.

Maybe it's because my morning has been complete crap, but it makes me so angry to read about that whole story in general. I wouldn't ever tell my husband this, but I've built up a whole lot of hate for people who were "supposed" to help him and ended up making things worse.

When he was sent home for being suicidal, after the psych ward they sent him to some other army base. There they got his paperwork mixed up and couldn't figure out what to do so they literally put him on a plane, told him to call me and let me know when to pick him up, and washed their hands of him. Made him feel like he was a bother for speaking out and they couldn't be bothered to take care of him and his hurts.

Ugh. I am so sorry for your situation. Sometimes I want to reach out and slap the whole world silly. Sending peace and comforting thoughts your direction!

Oh Wife of, what a crazy pile of crap. FFS, what do these shrinks get paid for?

I hope you can take some comfort from all the love and warmth we can send you.

It frightens me to think of where people would be without an advocate.
I think that's why people with ptsd frequently fear inevitably ending up hopeless and discarded if things take a turn for the worst. :(
(((((((Hugs)))))))

Oh Wife Of - no! I cannot believe that - when you said before about a court case I presumed it was something Army related. That is just the biggest pile of :poop: I have ever heard.

By definition, people in those places are there because they have no control over themselves. Flashbacks are not a conscious decision, oh GRRRR - I can't even bear to finish that sentence I am just so ****ing angry for you both!!!

A bruised arm? Wow - perhaps he should live the life of some of the Sufferers on here for a week and then come and tell us all how bad his arm hurts. There's a word for people like that - it begins with a W...

Sorry I'm late to the game here... (((((((((wifeof))))))))).

Yikes. What a piece of work that(those!) psych's are. GRRRR:mad:.

Sending you guys patience and calm...

So sorry this has happened to your husband wife of. It is so incredible that they are suing you for this.

Felt really triggered when I read what you wrote.

My 18 year old sister was in one of those UK NHS psych wards. She had bruises on the inside of her legs from them restraining her and forcing her to take medication.

When I visited my sister for the first time I shouted out to the psychiatrist "what had they done to her" She shouted at me that my sister had been throwing herself on the floor and got the bruises. My sister later told me it was them forcing her to take the medication.

Things never change. I agree never get yourself locked up in a UK NHS intensive psych ward.

I am so sorry this is happening wife of, and all I can say is this.

If those male nurses do not understand what a flash back is and how it can effect patients in their care, and do not expect to get the odd bruise. Then they should not be there, they should be washing dishes in McDonald's.

OK yes I do understand that they have a right to work in safety, but when a sufferer thinks they are back in the place that caused this, then they should learn before entering a psych ward that this is possible.

OK I will get off my soap box now.

Lets hope the judge see's sense too and throws it out before this even starts.

I hope you both get through this court case without big problems. What a waste of time and energy to put something like that in front of a court. And what a big stress level for both of you. I feel with you
