When do you know you don't belong here?
By here, you do mean myPTSD forums? If this is correct, then answering that question is not easy. The first question I feel needs asking, is what is making you feel you don't belong here? Another question if I may ask, is what brought you here and do you feel you've accomplished what you were hoping to by being here? Leaving here on a temporary basis and returning is good when you can cope with things without the support of this forum entirely otherwise coming for support is a good thing.

Moving on from here would imply that you if you're sufferer, you've got your symptoms under reasonable control whereas if you don't then being here may or may not be right depending on how you're working through issues. Otherwise if you're a supporter, I am sure there may be reasons to leave which can also vary. All in all it's a matter of situation as I see the support this site provides.

That questions asked dont seem to fit anywhere. But...you made a great point.
I need to be here. I have gotten alot out of this site and leaving could be detrimental.

I am bit confused here. At least my point did have the impact which was expected, and I'm glad that you realize that your departure could be bad if you did leave. Hopefully this helped.

Ok, what makes you feel a part of something? What are you feeling like you are missing here?

I'm actually getting to something, I promise.

I guess I feel like I'm very different than everybody else. Like maybe I'm in the wrong place. But...I've also gained alot by being here. It's confusing.

This feeling is a feature of C-PTSD, which is not an official diagnosis, but those I know with childhood abuse and abandonment, with or without PTSD, report a very strong sense of not belonging in any group. I can relate. It's hard, but you gotta tell yourself that you do belong, and you just don't "feel" it right now, but let it pass. It won't fully, but if you make any progress with that feeling not being as strong, that's something to be proud about.

Really?

I didn't think it was all that common. I mean for those who had childhood abuse. It seems like most people fit in just fine here.
