Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
I really try not to add any undue stress on my bf, but there are times when things need to be discussed. I believe my mental health is as important as his, and that good communication is a cornerstone for healthy relationships.
Since his hard work with therapy, EMDR, and other coping skills have paid off, he processes things much differently than he used to. One of his big issues is feeling cornered. He has communicated to me that this is a trigger for him, so approaching conversations naturally makes me nervous.
The bathroom approach was pretty funny...If all else fails, I might try it...:thumbs-up
