Why do I have a dog that is going to be a service dog? What will she do for me that a human can not?
These are a couple of the questions I get asked and they are very good questions. Before getting Jellybean I did tell a couple people when i was having a panic attack and they did not know how to handle it and freaked out so I now suffer in silence. When I have a panic attack iI get chest pains, shortness of breath, dizziness, my mind races as I think the worst. I have had Jellybean 2 months now and she has helped me out a lot more then i was ever expecting. It is not easy to live with PTSD , depression and anxiety. It is not easy being in a public setting and always looking over your shoulder or being triggered. It is not pleasant having panic attacks when you are triggered and sometimes you have no idea what triggered you. Having Jellybean helps with those moments once she is trained to do certain tasks like deep pressure therapy ( this is where she would lay across my lap during or after a panic attack) she will be more help then she is already. In the 2 months I have had her I am feelng more normal I am leaving the house more and feeling comfortable doing do. If I do have a panic attack and I have had some with her around it is a comfort being able to pet her during the panic attack. Now keep in mind her training is ongoing so she will never be fully trained as new situation will always arise. She has become a vital therapy tool and friend she is my little battle buddy (battle buddy a term veterans use for their comrades or service dogs). She is there to help me through this invisible battle I fight daily.
