Woman In Combat Arms...

Opening a whole new can of worms possibly.
Then you are deployed, and in the shit, because cadre in basic and AIT never took you seriously to begin with and couldn't be bothered.

I think that's called a self-fulfilling prophecy.......

Not saying that there isn't plenty of women there who aren't as physically fit as the men but its my personal opinion that women shouldn't serve infantry. As long as chivalry is alive with us lot then it will always affect the dynamics.

Your spot on their squirt. A woman can be trained to be an assassin, and we can all be trained to not feel pain or show emotion, but when basic primal instincts come into it, we will protect women.

I think the first few comments had me rolling...LOL. I just happen to know the guy behind PPR...long story there. But yea, women in combat. Let me start by saying, women and men in the army are all grunts first. You are taught in Basic to be a soldier first no matter what gender you are. Now, i guess i was one of those rare women you guys so highly spoke about before. I was a mechanic in a mainly male dominated MOS/job. I slept in the same tent as the boys, i shat in the same man made holes, showered in same facility the whole 9 yards. At 5 ft. 1 inch and 125 lbs, i could carry my ruck sack full with weapon and gear, just like any man. I did pretty good when it came to being physically fit on the tests. I was proficient in my weapons training and went outside the wire with my MP unit last time i was deployed to Iraq. I did 9 years in the army before I got out. I am still married to a soldier and have two kids. If i wanted to go into combat and was allowed I would have done it when i was young and single and still in shape. If they want to do it now, then go for it. It took a lil bit to integrate females into same training together with the males, it will eventually work out in time with females in combat jobs.

At the risk of derailing... In the Navy it's called "Salty Cracker" and if one of the squids comes forward and actually explains that little game....I'll just turn and join everyone else in calling them gay. And if you can't explain what it is, there is no way you are sailor. It's my Saturday Gordian knot. Weeee. The Marines may know what it is too, but their version probably involves knives..

"Licky Bicky" is what it always got called over this side of the pond from what I remember.

For me it's simple; if they can do the job OK, if not NO. That goes for either sex.

Are we still on Wagons post, or have we side lined again,

I mean at least with a women in the game, you have better chances of winning :ROFLMAO:

Wagon is talking his usual depraved stuff

Whoah! Armyvetwolf. Rah. You really soaped up right there with the boys in the one big shower stall with no partitions and no privacy? Sheeeit. We really were depraved in the Corps. On my second pump the main FOB would close down the shower tent from the hours of 2000-2100 so the 3 females on base could shower in private. They literally had a guard standing post to make sure no one peeped.

LOL Shogun, let me get more specific, since Jimmy said if i don't, all sorts of stuff will be said...;) To clarify on the showers, yes i used to shower in the same room shower, or room station, w/e you wanna call it before we had the shower trailers. First deployment, we built a one man shower stall with a gravity fed shower head. So, i had to take turns with the guys:p . When i was moved to another part of the unit halfway through the deployment, they had part of the bldg that had two sinks and 3 shower stalls, it was co-ed . When i showered in one stall, there were males in the other stalls usually. There was only privacy behind the curtain or wooden slab. Second deployment i got lucky and male and females had their own shower trailers(y) .

Just a few more things the Army gets instead of the Corps. Bigger budget, girls to shower with, captain America.... :p

Rah to you vetwolf.

It is true the Army has more females, but I was one female in a sea of males since i was a mechanic. It was in a male dominated MOS/Job. I found myself being the only one in a lot of units or situations. Had to be on my toes a lot and armed to the teeth to say the least. But don't think they took it easy on me, trying to be one of the guys was tougher than it looked. I had marine corps buddies too and sometimes I had wished to be a small close family like them. Army has changed and for the worst. SF Shogun, much respects man!

It must be hard not being able to shower on a regular basis. Shit there were days we would have loved to just have been able to wash ourselves in messtins.

So yeah, you all got one thing right, the Military has gone soft.

Man, you join the Military to be a Soldier, Soldiers go to war, to get the job done. All the "Can we shower regulary, Have I got a TV to watch, I need to take my laptop, Is there gonna be a Pizza hut Available. I need a Duvet on my Bed, Please don`t shout at me, it hurts my ears" gets on my tits.

FFS we were in theatre with no Body armour, Weapons that were 40 years out of date, and vehicles that weren`t even capable of doing the f*cking job.

We got there, got the job done and went home. F*cking seperate showers.
