Wonder how many of you experience or have noticed that your PTSD seem get out of control or worse when you are PMSing or durning period times?

Yes, definitely. I have posted about this topic quite a few times, actually. I keep a close watch on my calendar in effort to prevent myself from acting out my worst thoughts and it does help me to know that it will get better in a day or two.

I hope you don't mind Leo but being a woman I know I am worse pre-periods (PMS) than when I have my actual periods so I defined the polls options. If you are not happy please let me know.

I should clarify - my bad times are PMS (pre period). These extreme emotional/mental symptoms dissipate as soon as my period begins. I've always had PMS, it is just magnified to an extreme level now.

I have to watch for PMS- my thoughts, feelings can be more negative around that time. I'm sure hormonal changes such as PMS and PMDD (Premenstrual Dysmorphic Disorder) affect many women who also have PTSD/depression. Join the "P" Club.

I'm pretty tuned into my hormonal changes, both fortunately and unfortunately. The calendar just confirms what I already know based on how awful I feel. The first month of PMS post-accident was so painful, I have extremely vivid memories of everything I did and what I thought, and I scared myself. That is why I keep such careful track on the calendar - I would never want to think I would be stuck feeling THAT terrible forever, because I don't think I could handle it on top of everything else.

Mine was always worse when I was stressed or not feeling my best. So that makes me Pre and During. Things improved a lot after menopause.

I am coming up on the age of menopause, so don't really know how much that effects me. I'm still having periods (not every month).

I'm not sure what is worse Suzie... I've heard bad about both (periods and menopause).... I just don't know why we have to have our emotions screwed with further by menopause. Isn't 30+ years enough to endure... I mean you get less for life.
