Relationship Worst Episode Yet

I have been with my partner for around 5 months, in which time his PTSD was evident but not an issue. However he was unfortunately laid off work and had to take on an evening job which has seemed to kick things off again. He has been low in mood, angry over the slightest things and aggressive to me on one occasion.
Yesterday on his way to his shift he had a large flashback and got lost, unaware of who I was on the phone, where he was or where he was meant to be going. This is the worst I have ever seen him and I Had to leave work early to find him and get him home. Thankfully on seeing me he recognised me and we got him home and safe. He was distant, tired and cold for rest of day and similar this morning.!

My main issue is where to go from here. He can't go back to evening shifts and I am already working 6 and a half days a week to support us. He is adamant not to get help from disability benefits and has come off the medication given last year as he has managed to keep his condition well under control until now . He says he sees his Ptsd As a weakness and is ashamed of it. Therefore its not something we can just go to GP about or advertise.

I'm unsure how to deal with him when he has a flashback. Do I try and bring him out, let it happen and ignore him or just act as normal as possible? How can I make him realise its not a weakness and admitting you have an issue is a strength? How can I ensure our environment is as stress free as possible? How do other women in this situation cope with the worry it brings them?

Apologies for the barrage of questions; I'm very new to this!!

Thanks, Michelle
