Worst Hospital Visit Ever

I am truly truly sorry you had such a negative and distressing experience. As someone who also endured such an ordeal recently, I can empathise with your confusion and concerns and the difficulty in trusting that anyone will truly have your best interests and welfare at heart anymore. It is horrific and disturbing to me that certain professionals employed within these settings have more inappropriate and insensitive behaviours than the average Jo on the street, and yet somehow are deemed suitable for psychiatric care.

I would encourage you to ook up the details of the other hospital in Oregon, even if only as a last resort, a safety net that you can have in the back of your mind for reassurance if you should need to go to a hospital again. Just knowing you have options is sometimes enough, so it might pay to do some research while you have the time to calmly explore your options without pressure.

I am truly truly sorry. I do hope you can reengage with your T and that he will be empathic of your situation in view of how the admission turned out.

Please try not to give up on the entire mental health system, as difficult as i know that is. There are competent and ethical professionals out there, sadly it just takes some false starts sometimes before we can find them.

In the meantime, there is always support here on the forum.

I am so sorry and sad to hear what you have experienced. Some people have no business working in the mental health industry and yet they are permitted to. Do you have health insurance, if so, did your insurance cover your stay? If so, I would report to your insurance company how you were treated. Reporting it can at least affect them remaining an in-network provider.

I agree with Maddog, I would look into the other hospital that you could go to. It could function as a safety net. Sometimes just knowing you have an option can be helpful.

I'm in the other hospital, and other than the strip search which triggered mr horribly, it's been good. I have never been strip seached before and it took almost 2 days and lots of Ativan to recover. I an doing better tho and I missed you guys while my cell didn't work.

It really makes me angry when people like those care givers in that hospital treat their patients that way. They should not be in a position that even allows them to care for people. The very least they should be knowledgeable about the disorder that is being treated so that they don't inadvertently cause triggers to happen. The hospitalization is supposed to be there for the protection of the patient and help the patient get well quickly not to intimidate and frustrate the patient. I am just so furious about the treatment that you had to endure. Please receive my hugs and well wishes and know that there are so many wonderful people in these forums that will acknowledge your feelings and encourage you through the roughest times during life with this chronic burden that you carry. Speedy stabilization to you my friend.
