You Know You Are A Ptsd Supporter When:

When your sufferer is paranoid and freaked out about how you know some facts about them/their whereabouts/their plans (as if you're stalking them or have installed a GPS device in their head), when in reality, they TOLD you those fact/whereabouts/plans just the day before, and that's how you know, they just don't remember telling you.

Oh Holly B, I love you. I have been through that scenario multiple times with my friend with PTSD. Paranoid episodes about how I know things. The problem is that she has another friend (we are not friends) who encourages her in her fears. Which angers me because first, I am not a stalker. And second, I don't think being jealous and feeding her fears does anything except increase her night terrors. The last thing this sufferer needs is to feel like someone close to her has a hidden agenda.

You have all these mantras, phrases that you chant to yourself, so you don't go to pieces:

Unconditional love for my sufferer
Take care of myself
One day at a time
Baby steps
Keep putting one foot in front of the other
New normal...

Hey, thanks to whoever started this chat line - I'm new to this forum and new to posting on chats, and your sense of humour really appealed to me and I just didn't know how to introduce myself...
