You Know You Have PTSD When...

...spend 2 hours having every possible permutation of a phone call in your head.
...liquid courage / chemical distance / half a pack of cigarettes later
...place phone call.
...stutter through it for 2 minutes
...OMFG thank gawd it's done hang up
...chain smoke the other half a pack
...go for a run.

Yeah. 4.5 hours to make a 2 minute call? Not bad. :hilarious: :cool: :smug: :O_o: :facepalm: :roflmao:

When it takes forever to learn good healthy boundaries, being clear on what is acceptable and what isn't in my own view... and not caring what others think or feel about my decisions. Hard worked for growth. PTSD doesn't always win.
When you have grown enough to still have compassion and empathy for others without having to be in their circle. Yet still wish them well and hoping for growth and recovery for them.
 
When you give up on calls you don't want to make.

when your partner gives you a sticker for not crying in your sleep last night, and you get excited because STICKER.

when you do want to talk about it but it's been two hours already and you have said virtually nothing.

when you share something difficult that took you hours to get out and they ask you when you're going to tell them what's really going on.

when clarity to you is cryptic vague frustration-making to them.
