You know you have PTSD when you forgot how to get around your own neighborhood as you dissociated and than it just dawns on you after an hour or so.

Earlier today I was taking out the dogs. Double checked that I had everything. The e collar for the puppy (on vibrate not shock) Two leashes, my smokes so I can have one while we are out, phone cus I don't want to miss any calls, stove is off, tv on for the cat and birds, coffee pot off, only one light on the rest off, and no water running in either sink. Go out for the walk and have a decent time. Enjoy watching the big dog race threw the tall grass and the little one try to find his way and get lost over and over again. Decent walk back they both behave like a charm the big one decides to make a deposit on the moved grass where it has to be cleaned. Realize in everything you forgot the bags. Decide to come back out to pick it up and head up to the door to get back in the building and realize you forgot your keys. Walk around the building to come into the front door and head upstairs. Realize your keys are in the other pocket.
This is a common mispercerption. Many people blame age on why they cannot remember what they went into the other room to do or grab, but it's a problem of attention and not memory. When you go to get something and you can't remember what it was, when you have to wrote everything down immediately before you forget and your head moves on to the next thing ( or is this just old age setting in already)
Always check your head for sunglasses, too!
