You Know You Have PTSD When...

...when you carry a book with you, so if you find yourself sitting in a public place you can look like your reading so you don't have to interact with anyone, but then get stressed about how often you should turn the pages to make it look like your really reading in case someone is watching you for an extended peiod. So you decide you'll have to really read the pages or someone might suspect your looking at a book without reading, which would just be weird, so you read the pages to find you forgot to listen to the words, so you have to read it again, but then you've been on the page too long, so you need to turn it mid way reading it the second time....

thank you. *solace in knowing i am not alone in the performance of reading* books have become arm accessories for this purpose nowadays :roflmao:

YOU KNOW YOU HAVE PTSD WHEN:

You go to the market to do some grocery shopping, have a nice little chit with the cashier, pay for your groceries, then walk out the store and forget your groceries. ;)

At the grocery store they come after you most the time, and remind you to get your groceries.

But.... at Walmart, they don't. It's too busy, too loud, too crowded. If your like me you could drive half way down the block and realize you forgot your stuff you just bought, have to drive all the way back, and walk all the way through the parking lot and into the store twice!:rolleyes: Buggers!

There are whole years missing from my memory of my life. Like... no clue. I guess I was working where I was working, and living where I was living, but no memories of any specific events. That's a symptom, right? Ask me how I spent my 23rd or 24th or 25th birthday - I have no idea.

It is my pet peeve at Walmart. The cashiers never seem to be able to remind me to get all my stuff! Funny thing is I never have this problem at Target!

Yep. You know you have PTSD when your memory has more holes than swiss cheese.
Oh my god this is funny. I laugh my butt off every time I open this thread!

Nadege, so true, gosh I was just thinking that same thing tonight! There are years, birthdays, holidays I have absolutely no memory of. Wow

Kdblossom, sorry about your loss of your grandmother :(. I actually had to edit this because I didn't see your post before I wrote this. I'm sorry about your memory and your grandmother, nor is it funny. ((HUGGS))
