You Know You Have PTSD When...

You go through the Guide on TV and see a show called Triggers and assume it's about PTSD triggers...only to realize it's about the triggers on guns...I guess that makes sense on the military channel, lol

You know you have PTSD when you put the T.V on and can't work out why the programme doesn't match the T.V guide...because you're looking at last week's listings! :rolleyes:

When you keep reading "Grounding 101" on the forum not realizing for weeks or even months that "grounding" can have other meanings than "a form of punishment given to older children, pre-adolescents or adolescents by their parents (or teachers or headmasters in a school setting) for misbehavior and failing grades" - especially with regard to healing PTSD.

You know you have PTSD when you turn on the TV, stare at it for about a half and hour "watching it" and then realize you're on the spanish channel...and you don't understand spanish.

You know you have PTSD when you drive to the library and don't remember driving there! Yup, just done that!

Also, when the librarian shows you how to use the new book scanning machine and she has to show you 3 times because you just can't get it even if it is easier than using an ATM and a child of 5 could do it!

You know when you've got PTSD when your doctor tells you you have to go to hospital for a procedure and you tell her that if they try to sedate you and do 'that' to you, you will beat the hell out of them!

-head to the grocery store to stock up of food and decide half way there that it isn't worth the struggle.

You know I do something similar. I always want the number of posts to be exactly twice the amount of likes. It has happened before! :confused:
