@Junebug , thanks! Some details that make it more interesting are:
-when 2 previous therapists said something that bothered me, when I brought it up to them in a neutral tone of voice, "Why did you say that?" "I don't like what you said." "Please don't say that again, because I find it disrespectful," they retaliated, becoming passive aggressive, repeating the phrases to me-to defend their right of not being told what to do (which was a reflection of their ego problems), rather than having the maturity to respect my boundaries.
After working with those two dysfunctional therapist, I gained greater emotional intelligence, when choosing my current therapist. Happily, he demonstrates the ability to respect boundaries, and giving me safety, afterwards.
