Zoloft Has Changed My Husband

Disappointed

New Here
I am feeling sad today. My husband whom I love very much is a changed man due to going on zoloft. He loved me dearly until he went on zoloft, now he wants a divorce. Has anybody else ever heard of somebody changing that much due to zoloft?

I have seen my husband through many ssris. At times, when he was not being adequately overseen by a doc, and he was overdosed, things were rough. Really rough. My advice to you is to call his psych and give examples of his behavior change and any side effects.

Sorry to hear this. My husband has been on it for three years and for him it was a miracle...until he decided to take himself off of it abruptly and it sent him into a tailspin. Took 6 months to get him straightened out. But, as his physician told him..it doesn't solve the problems..that requires therapy... something he is not doing . So he has stopped improving in the last year ....things are rough for us right now...don't know where it is going to end...
Sounds like your husband's doctor needs to know.
You'll find lots of support here. Good luck.

I think you will hear plenty of stories on this site about SSRI's doing bad things to people, there are a lot of examples of where they have done good for people but there are a few who claim these drugs have done very very bad things to them.

Welcome to the forum Disappointed. The same medication can be a relief for one and hell for another. I do agree that he needs to be re-evaluated. I was lucky as my GP and Psychiatrist took time to make sure that the medications were having positive effects on me. There was some adjustment, but well worth it.
