Search Function Down

Thanks for the reports; for the time being, our search function isn't functioning. There will be an update when it's restored

My lovely wife woke me up, to ask me whether it was important... at which point I couldn't go back to sleep, hence it got fixed nearly at the time it decided to stop. Took me a while to get back to sleep... but I did it. :D Puppies and I even slept in as a result. :coffee:

You must have been sneaky as I didn't hear you get up (perhaps due to my 4am work disco in the other room?!)

The search function is down; last time, it resolved on its own. There will be an update when it is restored.

Search is getting reconfigured over the next 12hrs. Time for change with that system so it just works without issue.

Ok... search is fixed. Changed entirely, back to old school database style, best post feature gone as it was unused and cumbersome on search, everything else should be the same. This system will be slightly slower than the last, yet far more reliable. It is a sacrifice for stability to lose some speed, but this way search never stops unless the entire site stops.

Due to this change, I will need to restart the database server several times over the coming week as I need to tweak it to now handle a vastly different load that was shared across two databases before.
