@Lopezwhere'sthefire - as I understand you read books I warmly recommend Alice Mille...
Thank you for the suggestions, I just added "The Courage to Create", and "The Body Never Lies" to my audible list of books to buy. I just finished "Childhood Disrupted" by Donna Nakazawa, and currently reading (listening to audio book at work actually), "Heal Your PTSD" by Michele Rosenthal.

Welcome... awesome to see someone ready to fight the fight here !!! And as others have said, the heavy lifting can be hard. So, happy you are among a community that truly understands and full of hope... Happy you are here.

Love your attitude, as PTSD can be a powerful adversary... so attitude counts too!!! Telling it is NOT more powerful than your will to get better will help you thru the tough times.. we are here for you... let' rumble !!!:joyful:

Hey, Lopez! Like you, I suffer from C-PTSD related to sustained childhood trauma. When I was diagnosed last year, I felt ashamed because, in my mind, it was a sign of emotional weakness. Only vets have the right to suffer from PTSD, right?

Anyway, like you, I dove into my recovery with everything I had in me. It didn't take long for me to understand that my diagnosis was a gift. It was permission to let go of the past abuses and learn to love myself. So, one year post-dianosis, my therapist believes I'm past the halfway mark in my recovery. I think I'm nearly finished!

Rather than feeling weak and ashamed now, I feel strong and proud that I survived. PTSD sufferers are warriors, whether they've seen combat or not!

I'm happy you're here to share your journey with us!
