IMHO it's extremely short sighted and incredibly reactionary to use Obamacare as a reason why the country is worse off.

Millions of people are now insured, millions who had to go without healthcare before. Is the system perfect? No. But America sure as heck isn't worse off because millions of people now have access to health care. Maybe some couldn't afford it but this puts them in the EXACT same place they were 8 years ago. Not worse, the same.

And yes it did create issues for SOME but EVERY new program has growing pains. It's ignorant thinking that says "abolish obamacare because it's not perfect!" Yet conservative politicians spout this rhetoric constantly. These republicans do not represent me!

That was not the only reason I advised and I know MANY that cant afford Obamacare, what good is that?

ETA: You have your opinions and I have mine and I am entitled to my opinions of how ObamaCare is horrible, therefore nothing and nothing I said is "reactionary". But if i have a chance to today, I have a lot to do but if I have a chance to i will come back with facts as you seem to feel one mistake makes everything I say wrong.

I'm still dumbfounded why a website of disabled people supports someone who openly mocks disabled people.

He doesn't care about any of us!

The complacency is unreal. The dismissiveness of what he says is unreal.

And hating Hillary because she's a liar? People only see what they want to see as Trump lies constantly. Yesterday in his Fl rally, in the first minute of his speech he claimed to be ahead in three states. A 60 second fact check proved all three of those claims to be wrong. He lies CONSTANTLY!

I also think that people who say we elected Obama and are going to elect Hillary just to make history have a lot of deeply seeded prejudices of their own.

Obama supporters and Hillary supporters aren't stupid. We aren't voting based on a single trait! (Race, Sex). We vote because of the issues at hand.

HOWEVER, racism and sexism do indeed exist so some racist people voted against Obama for no other reason than he is black just as some sexist people will vote against Hillary for no other reason than she is female. <It's interesting when you flip the argument around!>

Remember people, Faux news isn't a news entity, it's an entertainment entity. It's not held to the same standards of actual news websites and newspapers.

I don't agree it's his most dangerous comment, but it is concerning. Violence that tends to happen when people no longer trust their votes have any meaning.

If Trump loses the election, I don't think he is going anywhere. He's addicted to all the media attention. Some reporters have said he gets distracted during interviews trying to check on how the news is reporting on him, and he seems quite concerned about ratings.

When Mitt Romney lost, Trump tweeted out calls for revolution in the streets. REVOLUTION. That was 4 years ago when no one was paying attention to him. I am sure most Trump supporters would handle it peacefully. Some have already proven they don't handle loss very well though.

Yeah, I know. Thats one thing I dislike. Im not a "Trump liker" per say but Clinton scares me with her lies. She has indeed broke the law however can still run for President. I dont get it.

Healthcare needs to be reformed but not like this. ObamaCare is horrid! I wouldnt mind paying higher taxes to give everyone free healthcare like, I believe, Canada. Im not sure if thats the answer but damn, something better than this.

I dont know where these "Millons of people" are that are covered as all I speak to cant afford it even if they have NO income. My dad & step mom would have to divorce for them to be able to afford it and Florida Blue, a STATE ran insurence, was able to cover her without a divorce, was way cheaper, way lower deductable, and more like group insurence and Florida Blue was there before ObamaCare so ObamaCare helped how?

@lostforgottensoul - I agree Obamacare isn't working. I think we need to put health care and the dept of education back in the hands of the states... but that's the libertarian position... not Trump or Clinton. I hope the libertarians get enough to get federal matching funds this time and to win the white house in 2020. But that's for another thread...

I agree with @EveHarrington that Trump's treatment towards the disabled is heartbreaking. His team was recently praising to Megyn Kelly that Trump buildings have wheelchair ramps and Megyn's response was to remind them this is nothing to brag about, it's in the law. The Trump supporter then talked about how expensive they are and Megyn then lamented they were missing the point.

But with reports coming out that he doesn't even know why we don't use nuclear weapons more often, I think Trump might be living in a world that is a little disconnected from reality.

In practice, I don't think he actually promised much of anything, his supporters just seemed to project their wishes onto him, and fantasized that he'd achieve things that King Canute demonstrated a thousand years ago, are beyond any king.

As for Trump, I havent yet been able to reasearch what Ive wanted to yet so will be back for that but still leaning more toward him.

even if there were only two candidates - you have more than an either - or choice.

you can deny them both legitimacy by refusing to take part (a candidate who got in on less than 40% of the potential electorate voting for them should be absolutely terrified because of the lack of legitimacy that they have)

or you can explore other alternatives - for example the Libertarians

remember, the repugnants were once the third party.

Well, I'm one person who has insurance I can afford now, when I haven't been able to afford it for years. But, I agree there are still problems. One is that there is a huge difference between states. In this state, if you have no income, health care is nearly free. There seem to be problems everywhere, including Canada. We for sure need better answers.

I really think that a big reason president Obama didn't accomplish more than he did is there's a significantly large part of congress who set out to oppose any idea he had, just because he had it. On the other hand, he couldn't come up with much in the way of compromise either.

Here, unemployment is definitely down. Lots of jobs in the papers. Wages haven't gone up much, true. IMO that's because the people doing the hiring have too much control over wages. I don't think politicians and doing much about that because those same people pay for their campaigns.

ISIS. Complicated. It's an unconventional adversary and can probably only be defeated through unconventional means. I guess I've lost too many people I care about through stupid wars. I want us to have a plan for a change.

Factcheck is pretty close to non-partisan. It does lean liberal. You can look up politifact, they are the other major fact-checking site. I'm not quoting them because their format is annoying. They lean conservative. Pick your poison (not directed at you specifically, @lostforgottensoul - the 'you' of the readers of the thread.
